Humanities

Humanities intend to provide students with a wide general knowledge and the intellectual skills with which to equip an individual for life.

The Humanities group of subjects provides students with a comprehensive grasp of the society in which we live and the skills with which to analyse the issues of the day. Geography encourages the study and understanding of our landscape while History teaches about the events that have shaped our world. Religious Studies help to explain our cultural differences. The addition of Sociology, Psychology, Law, Criminology and Politics at A level increases the depth of our understanding of people and their actions. It is an area which makes students aware of the vast array of issues that face the world today and gives them the skills with which to present logical and considered solutions.
